Sorry not sorry
Kabinett? We’re in. But not with Riesling, obviously. We’re going Furmint – the Riesling of the East, as we know it, love it and drink it.
The idea came home with Georg from Germany: university, internships, friends and plenty of encounters with seriously good Kabinett wines. And then the obvious question popped up: Why not Furmint?
So we picked earlier than usual. Yes, earlier. For that crisp, electric acidity. Every snip of the shears came with a little “sorry” to the vines – followed immediately by a “not sorry”. Because that tension? Exactly what we wanted.
Spontaneously fermented in a well-used large oak cask. Plenty of energy, a touch of sweetness and just 9% alcohol. Juicy, vibrant, light on its feet and dangerously easy to drink.
A Furmint playing Kabinett. And playing it really, really well.
